Hoping to complete this piece very soon. It follows a similar study painted recently but which never photographed that well. This one, thankfully, does which allows the richness of the earthy colours to shine through. After studying dry stones it seemed natural to progress onto wet stone studies and there has been a happy embrace of new challenges to paint water around the rocks as well as on the surface on them. The many reflections of light on the surface of the pebbles right down to the colour of water over stone in the shadows has kept the eye and hand busy for several weeks.
